The grass textures are great but what are you doing to that tree? It's like you punished it for war crimes or some shit with an assload of leaves that it can barely support. If you wanted to show a stressed out tree in a otherwise lighthearted painting then that's brave in itself but it'd also be nice to give it some branch-room. When doing leaves you can save yourself time and make the tree look a lot better by dabbing with a landscape brush (about an inch for this one). You could then accentuate it with slivers of the branches peeking out and not drowning them under all that green. The trunk seems a little unstable and it'd be great if you added another shade of brown to show that it isn't just a smear. Those flowers are nice touch but a bit too pudgy for this setting. Adding slight dabs of purple wouldve sufficed for a bush rich in purple. The white backdrop suggests a air polluted enviorment which might endear that this vegetation may be the last of its kind or a dreary snow day which would call for well, snow. I guess that's not where you're going with this though. For most of the grass the wind seems to be outright bipolar in it's direction and there's no definite direction it blows in or that the grass chooses what horizon it wants. The painting suggests the light source is coming from the left for the most part but it's doing a sub-par job of convincing me that's where it's coming from. Overall, I can see you definitely had fun with painting this, but it's the little things that can really make you proud of what you've created. I'd love to see more of your artwork in the future.
Yeah I know, I know haha. I was a little overbearing on the tree and got carried away.
Nevertheless, I do have more artwork on here, as well as some tunes.
